Shift Dress | Tobi Collab Part 2

{Tobi Take Over Shift Dress | TopShop Shoes, similar | Kate Spade Bag, similar | Ray-Ban Aviators}
More of my favorite dresses from Tobi: Maxi Dresses, Bodycon Dresses, Sequin Dresses, Cocktail Dresses

This week I'm rocking this adorable shift dress from Tobi! I'm a big fan of shift dresses and fell in love with this one when I saw it. I stepped out of my usual black & white uniform and opted for a dress with a neutral hue. I picked up major "60s vibes", so I paired it with my cognac platform heels.

I definitely need more daytime dresses in my closet, and this one is perfect for an afternoon date or for the office!

Stay tuned for one more outfit collaboration with Tobi--can't wait to show you guys!

As always, thanks for reading & God bless :)

Shop more from Tobi: Jumpsuits, Rompers

Hey lovlies!

I've partnered with Tobi to bring you guys 3 different outfits. I'll be posting them in the next few weeks so keep an eye out!

Today's outfit is definitely one of my favs. I've always struggled to find a right jumpsuit or romper for my body type (long torso problems), but this one fit just right.

The pinstripes elongated my body, and the deep-v cut added movement to the piece. I'm loving the 70s vibe the flared cut is giving and decided to pair the jumpsuit with platform heels to complete the 70s look.

As always thanks for reading and God bless :)

Striped Dress + Red Neck Scarf

{Forever 21 Dress | H&M Heels, similar | Forever 21 Neck Scarf , similar, similar, similar | J.Crew Earrings, similar | H&M Purse, similar | Madewell Sunglasses, similar}

Neck Scarves.

They're having a moment this summer, and I'm loving it. There are many different types of patterns you can go for when it comes to neck scarves (find the other options I researched above). I opted for a classic bandana print – I'm sure you have one of these lying around somewhere!

Feeling Parisian, I paired the neck scarf with a striped black + white dress. The side slit of the dress plus the platform heels add a bit of edginess to the overall look.

Don't know how to tie a neck scarf? Don't worry I didn't either. I used Refinery29's "how-to" video for help.

What's your opinion on this trend? Let me know in the comments section below!

As always, thanks for reading and God bless :)

Pineapple High-Low Dress

{TopShop Dress; similar cut, similar print | J.Crew Heels, similar | Ray-Ban Aviators
Nadri Earrings, similar | Tiffany & Co Silver Infinity Ring | X Ring, similar

Summer has finally hit the city and I couldn't be happier! Growing up in Miami the only season I knew was summer, and I took it for granted. Now that I've experienced a real winter I want to cherish this summer. And what better way to kick-off summer than with a pineapple dress?

The print and cut of this dress is perfect for above-75-degrees weather (breezy dress = no sweat stains). The open back makes this dress even more unique and can turn it to a beach cover-up.

Silver accents go best with this print, so I opted for high-heeled silver sandals and silver jewelry. Since this dress is busy, I chose to put my hair up and added statement earrings.

I searched high and low (get it?) to find a similar dress to this. TopShop doesn't make it anymore, but I found a seller on Poshmark who is selling one in a size large, as well as dresses similar to it.

I hope you lovelies had a great start to you summer & stay tuned for some more summer looks here!

As always, thanks for reading and God bless :)

Leanne Marshall FW16 Collection | NYFW16

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I know. It's been a looooong time since I've last posted. I've been trying to figure out what direction I want to take my blog, and I don't want to be posting less-than-perfect outfit posts for you guys.

In the meantime, I had the opportunity to attend Leanne Marshall's FW16 Collection during New York Fashion Week.

Disclaimer: This was my first fashion show and first time attending NYFW, so you can imagine the giddy smile I had on my face the entire show.

Marshall's collection was practically everything I love when it comes to style. The colors in her collection ranged from black (my fave), maroon, brown and autumn gold (also know as marigold).

In case you missed it, marigold is the color of the moment. Jennifer Lopez, America Ferrera and many others have graced the red carpets in this color. Needless to say, I'm about it.

Marshall is well known for her bridal collection, and as you can see in some of my photos she was showcasing a few of those pieces. What I love most about this collection is Marshall's juxtaposition of delicate detail to the overall minimalist aesthetic the dresses carry. If you've seen any past post of mine you know I live by the motto "less is more." Marshall truly understands that with her collection.

If I had to pick a favorite it would be the autumn gold silk charmeuse deep v gown with the graduated tier skirt (the first picture in my post). Marshall balanced boldness and sophistication by mixing a daring cut (that deep v) with restrained detailing. The graduated tier skirt adds movement to the dress, while the bow ties the whole piece together.

Marshall's collection was truly gorgeous and totally wearable. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to experience a taste of NYFW and thank you Leanne Marshall for the beautiful show!

As always, thanks for reading :)

Fall Trend: 70s-Inspired Clothing

It looks like the 70s are here to stay, and I can't say I'm upset about that. Colorful isn't exactly my favorite word, but I love the fun prints and colors from the 70s. This skirt from Zara has such a cool pattern and complimenting colors. While it is a colorful skirt, the colors aren't "in your face". They're warm and perfect for this time of year. Zara has a great fall collection that includes lots of 70s-inspired pieces.

I paired the skirt with a fitted, maroon turtleneck. Two things I love about this turtleneck: 1. Maroon is a great color to wear during fall and winter; 2. Owning basic tops, like this turtleneck, in several different colors is a must for cold weather. Having moved from sunny Miami to New York a short time ago, I've learned the importance of layering.

Now for these fabulous shoes. I recently bought these clogs from TopShop, and needless to say I haven't taken them off. They're surprisingly very comfy and great for work. Another great shoe option for this outfit would be velvet knee-high boots (another fab fall trend).

As always, thanks for reading & God bless :)

Long Hair, Don't Care | IrresistibleMe Hair Extensions

Hey readers! It's been awhile, I know. Life in New York is quite hectic, as well as having a real job. But, I manage by telling myself "I'm living in the coolest city ever!"

I was recently approached by IrresistibleMe Hair Extensions to try their 100% Human Remy Hair clip in extensions. Now, I've never worn hair extensions before because I've always had really long hair. However, I chopped all that hair off last year and since then been rocking short do's. So, I was pretty excited to try these extensions because I've been missing my mermaid hair.

The first thing I did when I received this lovely box was touch the hair (as weird as that may sound). The extensions felt so real. I was afraid the hair would feel coarse and the color would be off, but IrresistibleMe's hair extensions were spot on!
The extensions blend in with my hair perfectly. I loved having long hair again...I'm inspired to grow it out. But for the time being, these extensions will be my go-to!

Since it was my first time using clip-in extensions I had to watch a few tutorials on YouTube (thank God for those videos!). But I got the hang of it quickly, and using clip-in extensions is a stress-free way of adding a bit of 'omf' to your hair.

In case you were wondering the color of my extensions, they're Silky Natural Black (#1b). They retail for $79 and are well worth it. If you have any questions about these hair extensions, feel free to leave a comment below!

As always, thanks for reading :)
