How To Wear Layers In Fall

{Jacket: Nasty Gal/ similar | Sweatshirt: Target | Dress: Forever 21 | Beanie: Nordstrom/ similar  | Boots: Burberry/ cheaper alternative | Sunglasses: Ray-Ban | Rings: Madewell}

As the weather gets cooler your layering game should get stronger. I loveee layering in the fall. You get to play with different colors, textures and shapes. You can go for a classic layered look--skinny jeans, oxford button down with a pull over on top--or you can go for something a bit more edgy (this is what I typically go for). But I think both looks look chic.

For my outfit I went for a black skater dress with a sweatshirt on top. It's important that the sweatshirt is synched on the bottom to prevent you from losing your shape. This military jackets is one of my faves--the black leather sleeves are what sold me. Wearing tights under a dress or skirt is essential in cold weather. Firstly, it'll save you from having hypothermia. Secondly, it adds to the layered look. Even though it wasn't raining, I felt these black rain boots added to my overall grunge look. I threw on my favorite beanie (I literally wear it all season) to complete my outfit.

You can honestly have so much fun layering. The possibilities are endless, so don't hold back when coming up with an outfit. Hope you guys are staying warm!

P.S. Here are my two latest stories for College Magazine :) You can read them here & here!

  4. Hello Alyssa! First I want to tell you that I loved the articles you wrote on the college newspaper especially the one about your high school relationship. It is funny because my daughter who is now a freshman at UF, is in a similar situation so I will definitively call her tomorrow and ask her to read it (loved the crying Kim's). You are super talented! Anyways, love your outfit today. I know is very cold up there in Gainsville so layering is the way to go. Love the sweater, the dress, the beanie and the boots.... All together looks great! The jacket is to die for. You are right, the sleeves is what makes it super unique. Take care and good luck with school. xoxo, Jeannette
