Á La Mode

{Sweater: Banana Republic | Jeans: Urban Outfitters | Flats: Dolce Vita | Purse: Kate Spade, similar | Sunglasses: Madewell, similar | Necklace: Madewell, similar

Today's the first day of the new semester here in gatorville. For some, like myself, it's the first day of their last semester of college--oh my. It's crazy to think I'll be entering the real world in four months. So, I began my last semester in true Alyssa style. I believe in dressing to impress, and school is no exception.

You're probably thinking, "how can I sit in a 3-hour lecture and still look comfy and cute?" Trust me, it's doable. This pair of jeans from UO is sooo comfortable. It's high-waisted (my favorite type of pants) but I don't feel like I'm being suffocated. To keep the outfit appropriate for class, pair the jeans with a sweater. Up the style factor by adding a trendy necklace and slip-on sneakers. I wore these sneakers almost every day during the fall semester. They match with just about everything and are great for trekking across campus.

This semester is going to be a hectic one, but keeping my style is my way of keeping my cool. The bags under my eyes might say otherwise, though.

  4. Dear Alyssa, I was just there yesterday, in Gatorland, dropping my daughter off at her dorm. She is starting her college life and you are almost done! You must be one of the most stylish girls in that campus because I have seen how must of them dress (including my daughter), she is always in leggings and an oversized sweater or wearing workout clothes. You look so chic with that sweater and high waist
jeans (I also like high waist pants/jeans very much) and the shoes are super cute. I need a pair like that for when I go shopping (flats don't seem to be that comfortable anymore). Good luck in your last semester in school and enjoy every second of it. I have been in the career world for quite a bit now and still miss my college life very much (except being broke, of course!;-)) Have a blessed week and I look forward to you next post. XOXO, Jeannette

    1. Thanks so much, Jeannette! You should definitely get a pair of shoes like that--Dolce Vita and Steve Madden have some good pairs!
